One game that took us by surprise at Rezzed 2015 was a noir-styled action-adventure game. Blues and Bullets is an episodic story involving shoot-outs, investigations of some very sinister crime scenes, the need to make difficult decisions and of course some unexpected twists. What grabbed our attention was the film-noir visual style and the impressive amount of detail to environments and characters.
There are a number of specific influences to be found throughout the title including a Schindler’s List black-and-white style with coloured highlights of red blood or lipstick. We also felt similarities to games like L.A. Noire and Max Payne; however, CEO and Producer Ramón Nafria mentioned that the project contains a wealth of features from across multiple genres that make Blues and Bullets an altogether unique experience.
With over a hundred-and-fifty pages of dialogue in the first episode alone, the game is on track to be quite an in-depth story driven experience with plenty of gameplay. The demo we tried out gave us a refreshing taste of the unique contrast between storytelling, investigation and exciting gunplay that the Blues and Bullets will have to offer. Continue below for our video interview.
Blues and Bullets will be released in a series of five episodes for Xbox One and then potentially for other platforms in the future, with the first being scheduled for May. While you’re waiting, why not take a look at the official website? A big thank you to Ramón for taking time to show us the title at Rezzed and answer our questions.
