That’s it for another year: we survived the EGX 2015 expo in Birmingham, UK. We’ll be bringing you coverage over the next week or so and while you wait, here’s our photo gallery.
Kim says…
The EGX event moved from its previous home of Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre in London this year, upping sticks and relocating to the massive NEC in Birmingham. Although this may have caused some additional travel for many attendees it did have the benefit of opening up more space for the expo, allowing for a much larger area to be dedicated to indie developers in the Rezzed, Indie Megazone and Leftfield Collection areas. According to the EGX app over 230 titles were on show between 24 and 27 September 2015 – making it a must-see UK-based event for any gamer in the country.
Sadly however, one thing was missing from the expo: our beloved Phil. Day-job committments meant he was unable to attend this year and so it was up to Ben and myself to fly the flag for 1001Up, and fly the flag we did. We had the pleasure of meeting up with several other journalists and streamers including the lovely lads from Geek Sleep Rinse Repeat, James from Indie-Love.com and Pip from TinyPixxels; and we chatted to a number of developers including Colin from Prologue Games and the guys from Grey Alien Games, along with Tracey and David from Green Man Gaming.
So with tired feet we’re now back home in London, busy writing up our experiences of EGX 2015 and thoughts on the best games showcased there. We’re also working hard on a couple of videos to give you an ‘punters-eye-view’ of the event as well as a collaboration article with a number of other writers. Stay tuned – and in the meantime, why not check out our photo gallery below and let us know in the comments below if you see yourself!
Great to meet you guys!
