One day during the beginning of 2013, Kim came across a book that listed the top 1,001 video games released between 1970 and 2010 that everyone should play. And after a conversation in the pub with Phil over a pint one evening, we thought to ourselves: wouldn’t it be kind of cool if we tried to do just that?
But it didn’t just stop there. We’ve added to our momentous task by giving the spotlight to some amazing independent developers, and aim to publish our own list of the greatest 1,001 games in the world. We’re dedicated to providing independent, interesting, fair and quality information to our readers – along with a healthy dose of nostalgia and a good dollop of humour – and this affirmation forms the basis of the 1001Up philosophy and scoring system.
Below are the titles we’ve reviewed so far. Join us as we try to answer the fundamental question: should these releases be included within a list of the top 1,001 games?
1001Up. 1001 video games and beyond.
